Antique Thurston mahogany 12ft table

Description

1. This lovely burr mahogany snooker table stands on eight gadrooned turned and carved legs, and was manufactured by Thurston & Co in the 1830’s. It features an early example of a 4 piece slate bed (a Thurston innovation), upgraded from the original wooden bed.

The first slate bed was introduced in 1830 and John Thurston was granted his fist royal warrant to William IV in 1833.

This fully refurbished table, comes with new cushion rubbers, the finest West of England 6811 wool cloth, hand stitched leathers, cotton bag nets.
