Description

An extremely rare English oak cabinet with concealed scoreboard, slate marking board, ball storage and revolving cue stand. This unique carved and inlaid cabinet was made to order in an Elizabethan style to match a table and was manufatcured by Thurston & Co of London C.1880. This cabinet features bulbous carved columns below a continuing scroll design, with marquetry inlaid roses set into arched panels on the face. Exposed brackets and dowels complete the look of this stunning handmade piece. Concealed in the centre is a simple snooker or billiard scorer with ivory pointers, above a hinged slate marking board which reveals a sliding drawer for ball storage. Underneath is a drawer and plenty of cupbaord space, and flanked to the sides are two hidden doors which rotate to reveal cue storage for up to 18 cues & rests.
